Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). MBSR has been demonstrated to be an effective means of treating and managing numerous emotional and health concerns including anxiety and depression, and has had a growing presence on the McMaster campus including: Mindfulness Centre housed in the Athletic and Recreation Department; “Developing Resilience Through Applied Mindfulness” series for faculty development; MBSR groups offered by trained volunteers on campus in various locations including “MBSR on the move” combining the benefits of mindfulness with hiking and being outdoors.
